Planning Commission approves landfill zoning request
The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Planning Commission voted 6-5 today to approve a request to rezone a 192-acre tract of land in Harrison for a privately owned landfill. Dozens of residents from the area, which is between Birchwood Pike and Harrison Bay Road, crowded into the County Commission chamber to voice opposition to the proposal. Residents have voiced concern that the landfill would lower their property values and contaminate water in Harrison Bay and the Tennessee River. Representatives from the company that is planning to build the new landfill, Environmental Materials LLC, argued that property values in the area have increased despite three landfills already in the area. They also said federally mandated liners would protect groundwater.

We have posted a review of the iSkin evo3 iPod video case. The eVo3 offers a wide color selection, quality materials, and a clever design. The case adds a bit of bulk to your iPod, but since its designed to protect, this is acceptable. All of the iPod functions are accessible, and iSkin even provides a protective flap that covers the dock connector. The hold switch is covered by an embossed button, and moving the switch feels a little awkward at first. iPod plant used SMS threats to silence publications A new article from Reporters without Borders says that Foxconn, the factory used to manufacture iPods, in conjucntion with the Chinese government, used phone, email, SMS text messages, MSN, QQ and RTX (Real Time eXchange) instant messaging, web platforms and other means to coerce publications into not disseminating negative reports about company operations.
